Ellen Hirvela Russell is a Divorce Mediator and Collaborative Attorney with 18 years of legal experience. She is also a former Supervising Family Support Officer with the County of Ventura District Attorney Child Support Division (now DCSS) under former Ventura District Attorney, Michael Bradbury- Mrs. Russell brings to the table extensive legal knowledge  and experience and competent practice in Ventura and Los Angeles County.

After years of litigating family law cases in Ventura and Los Angeles courts, Ellen finds that  most families facing divorce are better served with a respectful DIVORCE WITHOUT COURT process, whether they choose Mediation or the Collaborative Divorce process.

Ellen is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, IACP and Coalition for Collaborative Divorce. .

Admitted to the Practice of Law in 1993, Mrs. Russell has represented clients in Divorce, Child Support, Spousal Support and Child Custody matters, and handled issues that arise concerning property disputes. She has also handled child custody and move away cases in Los Angeles and Ventura County.

Providing DIVORCE WITHOUT COURT services, whether it be Mediation, Collaborative Law, or whether Mrs. Russell has been hired to provide LEGAL CONSULTING SERVICES, Ellen is dedicated to helping parties with a process that suits their family's needs.

Ellen also drafts legal documents: Marital Settlement Agreements, Stipulations, Prenuptial Agreements, "PRENUPS,  and more.

Ellen Hirvela Russell, earned her J.D. at the Ventura College of Law, and her Mediation Certification from UCSB. Ellen is  a trained Collaborative Professional and member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP,) since 2002. Ellen is a  Past President of the Coalition for Collaborative Divorce, "CCD," a nonprofit organization of Collaborative Professionals serving clients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and Ventura County.

Living and working in Ventura County since 1973, Ellen raised her two children locally. She is a proud mom and grandma. She keeps active with varied interests, including managing her own website. Ellen and her husband are Camarillo residents.
